Original text by Sesto Bruscantini

If there is a twentieth century singer that has been able to return the concept of bel canto to the public, this is definitely Sesto Bruscantini: a complete artist, a model of vocal technique, knowledge of styles and musical rigor. Riccardo Muti worked with him several times and was "literally stunned by the creativity of his interpretation, from the extreme musicality, the perfect diction and exceptional dramatic presence of a man born to to be on stage".
Roberto de Candia, who was a student of Bruscantini, and Daniela Pellegrino reproduce for Solo Belcanto the program of the recital that the great baritone held on August 3, 1981 at the Piazza del Plebiscito in Ancona, focused on the female figure seen through the eyes of celebrated opera composers of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. In addition to the music of the concert, original texts written by Bruscantini himself will be recited by an exceptional presence, that of Alfonso Antoniozzi, also a student of the unforgettable Maestro.
